Communique - Enduro Course update, New Trails open for Pre-ride
The routes for the 2019 Rocky Mountain Enduro presented by Marty's Mountain Cycle have been finalized and published in the latest revision of the Technical Guide. As the kick-off race of the Island Cup Enduro Racing Series, the finalized trails for the event feature new additions and enhancements that will cater to a broad range of riding abilities and will increase the fun-factor.
A new trail called "Little Bones" has been completed and will be integrated with the Chainsaw Trail in order to provide extra distance and to also offer a faster and more flowing trail to all participants (except youth). A huge thanks goes out to Alex McKinnon who has spent long and tireless hours to have the trail completed and ready for pre-ride.
As a result of the hard work from Adam Walker's Cycling Co and Dirt Squad, The Flow Trail has a new lower section that has more banks and berms which will also be featured in the Bear Mountain Canada Cup. Adam's crew has also been hard at work with helping to clean and groom other trails for the annual event.
In addition, the new Marty's Mountain Trail on Skirt Mountain has also reached completion and is now open for pre-ride. An important item to note is that intermediate/expert/elite racers will be completing two separate runs of this trail and will have two separate "Chip out" sections, one for each run. A massive shout-out goes out to Marty Clough and the Marty's Mountain Cycle Team for donating their time to build the trail and to give riders more value.
The Bear Back trail is also open for pre-ride and will offer a fast and challenging route for Expert and Elite racers.
All racers are recommended to review the Technical Guide and familiarize themselves with the trail and the start sequences of each category. Note that trail crews may be onhand for minor tweaking and repairs, please keep your head up and ride safe!
